Support LAFA
Why Your Support Matters
LAFA is more than a gallery.
La Foundation for the Arts (LAFA) is a nonprofit arts organisation based in Ghana, West Africa — now also registered in the United States as we expand our reach and deepen our impact across continents.
Our mission is to empower African artists, preserve cultural heritage, and use the arts as a force for healing, dialogue, and transformation.
Where Your Support Goes
Every contribution — no matter the size — goes directly toward our programmes and artist support. LAFA operates with integrity, transparency, and accountability, ensuring that every donation is used responsibly to sustain our mission and expand our reach.
Artist Empowerment
Your contribution helps LAFA create pathways for African artists to develop their craft, access new opportunities, and share their stories with audiences across the world.
Cultural Preservation
We document, archive, and sustain traditional and contemporary African art practices, ensuring that our rich creative heritage continues to educate and inspire future generations.
Community Engagement
Through programmes like Bridge Conversations and collaborative creative workshops, LAFA fosters intergenerational dialogue, strengthens cultural identity, and reconnects communities through shared artistic experiences.
R-Therapy (Restorative Therapy)
R-Therapy is one of LAFA’s most meaningful programmes. We use art as a medium for healing — supporting children with autism and individuals living with cancer. These sessions create safe and expressive spaces where creativity becomes therapy, helping participants find calm, joy, connection, and emotional release through colour, rhythm, and form.
Global Exchange
With an active presence in both Ghana and the United States, LAFA is building a global bridge for African and Diasporan creatives. Your support helps connect artists to international audiences, collaborators, programmes, and institutions.
